Cancun’s Playa Delfines
Even though there’s a lot of coastline territory around Cancun that has breathtaking white sand and the clearest blue waters you could ever see from the Caribbean Sea, nothing beats the beauty of Playa Delfines (Dolphin Beach), which is popularly referred to as The Lookout (or El Mirador). Some of the popularity concerning Playa Delfines is the natural preservation of its land. To date, there have been no hotels, restaurants or other buildings constructed on this beach, which means your experience there is one of total relaxation.
Getting to Playa Delfines in Cancun
It’s not hard to get to Playa Delfines by bus or taxi from most hotels in Cancun, but if you want to drive there yourself, you will love the idea of not having to pay for on-site parking.
Facilities at Playa Delfines
Most people like to pack light when going to the beach, so you can rent your beach chairs and umbrellas after you arrive. Also, you can have a peace of mind knowing that the restrooms are properly cleaned and serviced. A playground is available for your children if you decide to take the whole family to the beach. Also, when you get tired of sunbathing, you can enjoy the shade of the palapas that are available. Local vendors provide hearty snacks, so you could end up spending the full day on the beach.
El Mirador
Playa Delfines is not called El Mirador for nothing. A wooden lookout spot with a vibrant spelling of the word “Cancun” is a lovely place to take wonderful pictures. Aside from the lookout spot, there’s plenty to see when you play around in the waves of the enticing blue-green waters of the Caribbean.
Beach safety
Although lifeguards are there during the day, always be careful when venturing out into the deeper parts of the water. While the conditions out there are great for surfers, the rougher waters may be a bit of a problem for the average swimmer. However, if you are looking for a great surfing experience, the consistency of the waves makes Playa Delfines a great spot for surfing fun. Since there are no vendors on the beach renting surfboards, you will have to get one while still in town if you wish to surf while at the beach.
Playa Delfines is sure to be a day out in Cancun to remember.
