PV’s Parque de Los Azulejos
Are you dreaming of taking a vacation to Mexico? If so, why not visit Puerto Vallarta? The charming coastal town is located in Banderas Bay, which is Mexico’s largest bay. The area is also known as Zona Romantica or Romantic Zone, and Lázaro Cárdenas Park is the site of Saturday morning farmer’s markets during high season. No matter what time of year you visit, take a stroll through the park to check out the colorful mosaic tiles that adorn many of the park’s numerous benches and pillars. Meanwhile, read more below about Puerto Vallarta’s Parque de los Azulejos.
PV’s Parque de Los Azulejos
The idea to add mosaic tiles to benches in Parque de Los Azulejos started several years ago when local artist Natasha Moraga decided to organize people to help add the tiles. Initially, renovations were part of Puerto Vallarta’s Centennial celebration, and many members of the community came together to help transform the park into a beautiful work of art. Today, the park has numerous benches that are adorned with vibrant and colorful mosaic tiles. In addition to the Parque de Los Azulejos, artist Moraga has also created beautiful artworks in the Puerto Vallarta Marina and on the Malecon boardwalk, too. Thanks to the help of residents and visitors, Lázaro Cárdenas Park is now known as the Parque de Los Azulejos b/c of the lovely mosaic tile plates that are handmade. Residents and even vacationers can attend a course instructed by artist Moraga to create more tiles for the park.
